FAQs

I've been injured in an accident. Now what?
(1) Immediately seek the advice of a Personal Injury Accident Attorney. First, speaking to a Personal Injury Attorney will bring you peace of mind. For most of us, getting into a serious accident is like entering a different world. What happens now? Who pays for the damage to my car? Who pays the towing charges? Who pays the storage fees for my vehicle? Am I entitled to lost wages? When will the insurance company pay me? Who will pay my medical bills in the meantime?
**With Attorney Stevens, an initial consultation
to review the answers to these questions is free
and confidential.
(2) What should I do about the investigator or insurance adjuster who keeps calling me? Do you know that you are not required to speak to that private investigator who keeps calling you for information? Do you know that you should not speak to him or her? Do you know that you should not speak to the insurance adjuster for the other parties involved in the accident? These professionals are not your friends. It is their job to limit your recovery. It is Attorney Stevens' job to maximize your recovery by assisting you in providing information that is the most accurate available.
**By immediately seeking the advice of a
Personal Injury Accident Attorney you will
help to maximize the value of your case.
(3) Gather the evidence that is important to your case. Take a moment to write down exactly what happened before, during and immediately after the accident occurred. These details may be fresh in your mind now, but in a few months they may become less clear. Always try to note: time and place, weather conditions, any witnesses to the accident, and how the experience affected you at the time of the accident, emotionally and physically.
(4) Photographs, videos and documents. If you are injured in a car accident, take pictures of the cars and other property damage. Take immediate pictures of your injuries, but also consider taking pictures of your injuries on a weekly or monthly basis as the injuries begin to heal. Also, obtain copies of the police report and all of your medical records regarding treatment you have received for your injuries. If you were injured by a faulty product, keep the product in the condition it was left after the accident occurred. Your effort in collecting these types of evidence can mean the difference between winning and losing your case.
